Physical Education Department

The Department of Physical Education GRWPC Payyannur had an excellent year in sports during 2025–26. The college became North Zone Champions in Shuttle Badminton and secured State Runners-up in both Shuttle Badminton and Table Tennis. The team also took part in the State Inter-poly Ball Badminton Championship. Regular practice and coaching camps helped the students perform well. The athletics team won the Overall Runners-up position at the State Inter-poly Athletics Meet. Based on the overall performance in sports and games, the college secured the Overall Aggregate Second Runners-up position at the state level. For the first time in the history of the college, six students represented Kerala in eight events at the South Zone National Polytechnic Championship, bringing great pride to the institution through their outstanding performances. Saniga K.M. and Devananda P.K. were members of the Kerala Table Tennis team, which won the championship. Riya M. and Sharona Santhosh represented the Kerala Badminton team, which finished as runners-up. In athletics, Sharona Santhosh was a member of the Kerala team that won the 4×100 m relay. Fathima Fidha secured 4th place in Shot Put, Vishnupriya Binoy secured 6th place in the 800 m event, and Riya M. secured 6th place in Discus Throw. These remarkable achievements brought honour and recognition to the college at the national level
